For us, this business is our way to finally reach a balance of professionalism and passion. Food is the language of the soul & everyone speak it. When scaling catering to many people, you can sometimes lose that special touch which makes things not only delicious, but provoking and nostalgic, Square Meals was our answer to this.

Our Story

My name is Connor, I started off as a small catering Sole Trader, a small team of passionate people and I worked together to build an inclusive, complaint & above all richly passionately cared for client base.

A well-known Lodge of Freemason's had put the word out, their caterers were retiring and their long-term traditions were at risk of being uncared for, as they looked for a caterer who could accommodate their needs, whilst remaining within their budgets.

My father in-law, being a director of the company who oversaw the operations of the Masonic Lodge, mentioned this to me. "Why don’t I just do it?" I replied, surely it would be an easy task I thought (how misguided I was).

Through licensing, Hygiene and COSHH training, to EHO inspections, health and safety assessments, gas compliance regulation, public liability insurance, I realised how much truly went into this line of work, and I fell in love immediately.

Over the last 4 years of operations, I have learnt many things, but one thing remains my biggest find so far, be it a Lodge of Freemason's, the Mayor's dinner, The NHS or a Bridge to be, everyone’s needs are different & one size simply does not fit all.
